Surge pricing questions answered
Which plans include surge pricing?
Demand-based and peak-hour surge are included in Advanced tier. Weather-based and zone-based surge are Pro-only features.
Does weather-based surge cost anything?
No. We use a free, open-source weather API that requires no API key. Weather data is cached for 5 minutes per location.
Can I cap the surge multiplier?
Yes. You set a global maximum multiplier (e.g., 3.0×). Surge will never exceed this cap regardless of demand.
Do customers see the surge multiplier?
Yes. The customer app shows the current multiplier and estimated fare with surge applied before confirming the booking. You can toggle this visibility.
Can I turn off surge pricing?
Yes. Surge can be disabled globally or per factor (peak hours, weather, demand) from the admin panel at any time.
